Staying warm in the winter months is certainly a priority, but it seems so easy to loose your shape when you are dressing for warmth! I have pulled together 4 outfits and quick tips to help you think outside of the box when planning your next warm and cozy outfit!
Its all about proportion.
If you are going with a full warm sweater on top pair it with tight pants on the bottom. I love to pair leather leggings with fun sweaters to provide a nice contrast! To add even more length to your shape and create a slimming look pair with a nice heel.
Focus on the Details.
I love jackets, and layering them with a nice warm flannel provides warmth while making a style statement. I love to style my shirt collars with fun necklaces. Sometimes when dressing in layer upon layer we forget to accessorize, am I right ladies? Remembering to pair a bold necklace with your collared look will keep you fashionable while staying warm. Rolling a nice cuff on the bottom of skinny jeans and pairing with booties makes me giddy with excitement! Nailing this detail will make your outfit POP.
Go with the flow (and the fringe).
Tops and Sweaters that allow movement seem to be all the rage right now, and I can testify to why! Holy Comfort Ladies! I paired one of my favorite flannels with a thick long vest and felt ah-mazing. Tucking in the flannel while allowing the vest to flow mid-thigh allowed the vest to really keep me warmer than a regular length sweater. Again, you can see that I dressed up my collar with w chunky necklace and topped off my outfit with my favorite booties ever! Are you girls seeing this fringe?! The heel lengthens my look and dresses it up just enough to take me from work to dinner with the girls.
Sometimes warming up a look is as simple as adding your favorite scarf. In this look I paired a loose fitting sweater with skinny blue jeans. In order to show you two separate looks I used two different scarf/shoe combinations. In the first look I have a plaid scarf paired with fuzzy lace up boots. Notice how the red laces pop with the red in the scarf? Matching details like this will make you look totally pulled together. In the second look here I kept it classic with hoop earrings and swapped scarfs for an army theme. This also prompted a more rugged look for my boots.
There you have it ladies, 4 tips to keep warm without loosing your shape!
